Jay W. Mankey, 61, of Washington, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday, August 11, 2002, in Beverly Health Care Center, Canonsburg, following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 7, 1941, in Greene County, a son of Olive Dille Mankey of Claysville and the late Raymond C. Mankey.
Mr. Mankey was a machinist and had been employed by Tri-State Engineers and also had been self-employed.
He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Washington, and was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School, where he wrestled.
On December 1, 1984, he married Janet Miller, who survives.
In addition to his mother and wife, surviving are a son, Jay W. Mankey of Arizona; a daughter, Rawni White of Canonsburg; a brother, Harry E. Mankey of Houston; and two granddaughters.
MANKEY - Friends of Jay W. Mankey of Washington, who died Sunday, August 11, 2002, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, August 13, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with the Rev. Edward R. Gray officiating.
