Manager for United Dairy Farm Dorothy Mae Polan, 61, of Washington, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in her home, following a nine-year illness. She was born July 12, 1940, in Washington, a daughter of the Rev. Helen Beach Harrington of Washington and the late Rev. Harry Thomas Harrington. Mrs. Polan attended Trinity schools and was a former member of Allison Avenue Baptist Church in Washington. She was employed as a waitress by Howard Johnson, Len's Restaurant and Washington Restaurant, and had been manager for United Dairy Farm. On November 20, 1980, she married Robert W. Polan, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Shuba of Ohio; two stepsons, Robert A. Polan of Ft. Morgan, Colo. and Daryl Polan of Washington; two daughters, Susan Hildebrand and Tammy Main, both of Washington; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Bellendir of West Minster, Colo.; two brothers, Thomas H. and David M. Harrington, both of Washington; two sisters, Charlotte A. Pearson and Martha Miller, both of Washington; 14 grandchildren, Del, Destinie, Denyele and Tori Main, Stephanie, Jeffrey and Toni Hildebrand, Michael, Che-rie and Ashley Shuba, Chad and Courtney Polan, Ronnie Bellendir and Lee Cowan. POLAN - Friends of Dorothy Mae Polan of Washington, who died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, with the Rev. J. Eric Hertzog officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Serenity Mausoleum. The family suggests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice, Foster Plaza, 9750 Holiday Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
