Marilyn J. Rogers Hunter, 71, of Prosperity, died Thursday, June 26, in the Donnell House following a lengthy illness. She was born in Wolfdale on October 11, 1931, a daughter of Robert Alvin and Sarah Jane Patterson Deyell Sr. She was a homemaker, a Trinity High School graduate, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, game shows, and her grandchildren. She was twice married, her first husband, Clyde Victor “ Pap “ Rogers died on April 12, 1976. Her second husband, Paul Thompson “ Buck “ Hunter, Jr. died in 1976. Surviving are three sons, Dennis , William C. , and David Rogers of Prosperity; a step-son, Donald Rogers of Lone Pine; two sisters, Katherine Shrader and Virginia Shrader of Washington; six grandchildren, Jerry, Kevin, Shawn, Glenn, David Rogers, Jr., and Beth Ann Wise; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, James R. and Ronald Rogers, seven brothers, Melvin, Patrick Lee, Robert Alvin Jr., Henry James, Leslie W., William, and John Deyell and three sisters, Mary Jane Deyell, Sarah Joyce Morris, and Ethel Jean Gray. Friends of Marilyn J. Rogers Hunter, 71 of Washington who died on Thursday will be received on Sat. from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2003 at 3:00 PM, Rev. Craig M. Bellis officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
