Myrtle Irene Young, 87, of Washington, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Washington Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1916, in South Strabane Township, a daughter of Oscar and Mary Weighman Thomas.
Mrs. Young was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Washington.
During World War II, she worked at Continental Can tin factory in Canonsburg.
She was active in Laboratory Parent-Teacher Association.
Mrs. Young enjoyed Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On June 23, 1933, she married William O. Young, who died July 6, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Ames of Washington; three sisters, Sarah Kovacicek, Hazel Crile and Betty Molinaro, all of Washington; and a grandson, Paul Lee Ames.
Deceased are a brother, Frank Thomas; and five sisters, Goldie Lang, Florence Vester, Gladys Taylor, Ruth Ledger and Clara Wheeler.
YOUNG - Friends of Myrtle Irene Young of Washington, who died Sunday, March 30, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, with the Rev. Rob W. Shoup officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glyde.
