Owner of Magnum Piering in Washington Donal L. (Donnie) Morris, 64, of Washington, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 14, 1938, in Washington, a son of the late Peter L. and Laura Mae Miller Morris. Mr. Morris was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School and had attended Waynesburg College. He served for six years with the U.S. Army Reserves 518th Quartermaster Unit. Mr. Morris was co-founder of Ambulance and Chair Service, which sponsored the first emergency medical technician and paramedic classes held in Washington County. He was past president of Pennsylvania Ambulance Association. Most recently, Mr. Morris was the owner and operator of Magnum Piering in Washington. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, Washington, and had been president of the trustees of the church, an assistant head usher and a member of the administration board of the church. Mr. Morris was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 164 in Washington and was past high priest of Royal Arch Chapter Washington Council 1. He was involved in Demolay. Mr. Morris was a member of Elks and Arms Club and was past president and member of Washington Kiwanis Club. He was a member and former board member of Washington County Builders Association and a former member of Washington-Greene Association of Realtors. Surviving are a son, Scot Morris of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Gwyn Morris of Richmond and Lisa Morris of Milan, Italy; a brother, James R. Morris of Tooele, Utah; a sister, Margaret Jane Phillips of Mt. Pleasant; and two grandchildren, Spencer Noel and Camryn Halle Morris. Deceased are two brothers, Ralph L. and Raymond Jack Morris. MORRIS - Friends of Donal L. (Donnie) Morris of Washington, who died Thursday, April 3, 2003, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, with the Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions to Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church or a charity of donor's choice.
