Walter X. Berry, 66 of Washington, died Sat., March 15 in the Donnell House. He was born in Washington on November 20, 1936 the son of Charles L. and Mary Wagner Berry.
Mr. Berry had attended Washington High School and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1957. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Mr. Berry was a member of the Civil Air Patrol as a youth and later served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a former member of the YMCA Swim Team and had received awards for his ability.
Mr. Berry had worked as an Exterminator at Commonwealth and Rentikill, as a Janitor for Piatt Machine Company and was in the movie “ Night of The Living Dead “ having played Mr. McGruder.
On June 20, 1981 he married Doris Catherine Robison who survives. Also surviving are; two brothers, Charles Lionel Berry, Jr. of Philadelphia and Philip Wood Berry of Washington, a sister; Ludwina Scott also of Washington, as well as several Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Albert Berry.
Friends of Walter X. Berry, who died March 15, 2003 will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Pm on Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 18 in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow in The Garden Mausoleum at Washington Cemetery.
