Bessie Agnes Owens

Bessie A. Owens, 89, of Logan Ohio, Formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Logan Health Care, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington on December 22, 1914, a daughter of Andrew and Evelyn Yoders Fisher. She once worked as Union Camp and later owned and operated Family Craft on Wheeling Street, in Washington. She enjoyed crafts and especially crocheting. On May 23, 1932, she married John L. Ownes, who died on February 22, 1962. Surviving are a son, Robert L. Owens and his wife Ida, of Dorset, Ohio, and a daughter, Joan Carol McCord and her husband Robert of New Straitsville, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are a daughter, Martha Briggs; a son, John L. Owens, Jr.; three brothers, Lester, Irvin, and Carl Fisher; and a sister, Martha Wylie. Friends of Bessie A. Owens, 89, of Logan Ohio, Formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004, will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2004, at 11:00 am with William Foflygen officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
