Washington resident worked for Brockway Glass
Gary Linn Morris, 56, of Washington, died unexpectedly Monday, March 3, 2003, in his home.
He was born March 3, 1947, in Washington, a son of Donald and Bessie Crowe Morris of Washington.
Mr. Morris was Protestant and a 1966 graduate of Trinity High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and after active duty was a member of the 630th Reserve Unit.
Mr. Morris had formerly worked as a palletizer for Brockway Glass and as an electrician for Vance Cowden Electric. He also worked for U.S. Steel Homestead Works.
He was a member of Jessop, Pulaski and Slovak clubs and a former member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a son, Wayne Morris of Fort Hood, Texas; two daughters, Michelle and Christina Morris, both of Washington; a sister, Susan Zimmerman of Elizabeth; and a nephew.
MORRIS - Friends of Gary Linn Morris of Washington, who died Monday, March 3, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, with the Rev. George VanRiper officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded at graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association.
