Member of St. Hilary Church was packer for Metro Glass
Mary K. Balog, 88, of Washington, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004, in Washington County Health Center, after a brief illness.
She was born January 24, 1916, in Manifold, a daughter of Andrew and Anastasia Carmen Kuzy.
Mrs. Balog worked as a packer at Metro Glass.
Mrs. Balog was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church.
She was a member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Lagonda Homemakers and AARP. She enjoyed crocheting.
On February 28, 1943, she married Stephen Balog, who died June 23, 1976.
Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Balog of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Diane Labancz of Elizabeth and Barbara Podboy of Washington; a sister, Helen Beverina of Washington; and four grandchildren, Sheryl McCall, Rebecca Labancz and David and Kristin Podboy.
Deceased are three brothers, John, Frank and Nicholas Kuzy; and a sister, Julia Kuzy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where the Catholic Daughters will say the Rosary at 4 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, in St. Hilary Catholic Church, Washington, with Father Thomas D. O'Neil as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
