Production superintendent for B.F. Drakenfield
D. Dallas Potts II, 95, of Lighthouse Point, Fla., died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, in Lighthouse Point.
He was born April 22, 1907, in Salina, Kan., a son of D. Dallas and Nora Potts.
Mr. Potts received his bachelor of science degree in 1929 from Baker University in Baldwin, Kan.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was a Vestry member.
Mr. Potts was a superintendent of production for B.F. Drakenfield for 38 years.
He was a member of Washington Planning and Zoning Commission, Citizens Library Building Authority, Greater Washington Parks and Recreation Board, Washington Boys Baseball, Pony Baseball and Washington High School Pigskin Club.
Mr. Potts was an artisan and painter, a sports enthusiast and a golfer. He enjoyed gardening.
On October 1, 1937, he married Jane Thompson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Christopher Potts of Washington; two daughters, Marjory Sherman of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Carolyn McCann of West Palm Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Sara, Angela and Joelle Potts, Jennifer Heesen, Michelle Martin, B.R. and Brian McCann, and Kelly Bush; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, D. Dallas Potts III.
A memorial service will be held later. The family suggests memorial contributions to Citizens Library Renovation Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., Washington.
