Avella woman was inspector, seamstress
Helen M. Loughman, 81, of Avella, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003, in Washington Hospital.
She was born August 29, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph E. and Gladys Coughenour Mackey.
Mrs. Loughman attended Friendship Community Church in Washington and was a former member of First Christian Church of Washington.
She was a graduate of Trinity High School and Penn Commercial business college.
Mrs. Loughman was employed at Brockway Glass as an inspector, at RCA and Washington City Mission, and as a seamstress by Gessner's Dress Store.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Seibel of Avella and Carole A. Gongaware of Washington; a sister, Martha Kelley of Washington; six grandchildren, Pam King, Heidi Stellavato, Joseph Ayre and Jamie Sue, Blaze and Courtney A. Gongaware; seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Louise Mounts and Dorothy Renz.
LOUGHMAN - Friends of Helen M. Loughman of Avella, who died Saturday, February 15, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, with the Rev. Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Friendship Community Church Building Fund.
