Edward Martin Kelley, Sr., age 77 of Washington died Tuesday, February 18, 2003 in the Washington Hospital.
Mr. Kelley was born in Washington on March 8, 1925 the son of James and Mable Roupe Kelley. He had worked for Hazel Atlas in Washington for 23 years and later worked for General concrete a finisher. Mr Kelley was a member of the New Life Tabernacle. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzels.
On December 25, 1948 he married Dixie Naylor who survives. Also surviving are seven sons; Wayne McCartney, Jim, Tom, and Roger Kelley, all of Washington; Edward Kelley of Ashland, Ohio; Ronald and Paul McCartney of Kansas City, Kansas, and a daughter Shirley Travers of Old Town, Florida, Six Brothers; James E., Walter, Sam, John, Thomas, and Dave Kelley all of Washington, 33 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Mr Kelley is preceded in death by two sons, Carl and Robert McCartney, a daughter Joyce Kelley, and a brother George Kelley.
Friends of Edward Martin Kelley, Sr. of Washington, who died on Tuesday, February 18, will be received on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington where services will be held on Saturday February 22 at 11:00 am. Burial wil follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery.
