Ruth E. Weigle

Ruth Elizabeth Weigle, 96, of Washington, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in Washington County Health Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 10, 1911, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, a daughter of William Earl and Viola Goddard Cawthorne. Mrs. Weigle worked as a housemother for YWCA for twenty years and was a life member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed visiting friends and attending church activities. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Beverly Taylor of Wheeling, West Virginia, Brenda Rice of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Becky Rice Hayes of Paden City, West Virginia, Michael Rice of Marietta, Ohio, Jack Rice of Charleston, West Virginia and Gene Rice of Sistersville, West Virginia; and many great nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Robert L. Rice. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 25th, with Rev. James Newman officiating. Burial will be held in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, West Virginia.
