Betty Jane Hewitt

Betty Jane “B.J.” Hewitt, 79, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in The Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health. She was born October 22, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Emil M. and Emma M. Ruckert Heres. Mrs. Hewitt graduated from Washington High School in 1947, and worked as a secretary for Amanati and Tucci Insurance. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of Covenant Life Fellowship Church, Women’s Aglow, and Mt. Lebanon Thursday morning prayer group. She once enjoyed photography. On October 9, 1954, she married Jack Gaylord Hewitt, who died November 6, 1997. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, with Rev. Craig Bellis officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
