Mildred Mae "Granny" Cole, 75, of Washington, died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born July 17, 1927, in Wolfdale, a daughter of Harold L. and Seena Roupe Barrett.
Mrs. Cole had been employed as a cashier for Hills Department Store.
She was a member of Polish Club, Claysville American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Confluence, GMP International Union and LOOM 22.
On September 30, 1946, she married Carl Marx Cole, who died June 18, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Carl R. and H. Dennis Cole, both of Washington; five daughters, Marlene Lehew and Cynthia Kline, both of Washington, Darlene Yater and Gloria Mankey, both of Claysville and Rita Gorby of Washington; a brother, Harold Barrett of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Cordelia McCory of Indiana; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Herbert Barrett.
COLE - Friends of Mildred Mae "Granny" Cole of Washington, who died Wednesday, February 19, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 22, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
