John Alvin Burson

Personnel director for Molycorp John Alvin Burson, 79, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2003, in his home. He was born August 27, 1923, in Washington, a son of Ray T. and Minta Eakin Burson. Mr. Burson was a personnel director for Molycorp for more than 30 years. He was a 1940 graduate of East Washington High School. Mr. Burson served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Unity Center of Pittsburgh and served on the board. He taught classes at the church and had a study group in Washington. His wife, Audrea June Loucks Burson, died July 23, 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Susan D. Burson of Decatur, Ga.; and two nephews and a niece. Deceased is a brother, William Burson. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
