Carpenter was member of Church of the Covenant Woodrow Wilson Tustin, 86, of Washington, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Breese Rest Home, Claysville, after a year-and-a-half illness. He was born April 7, 1918, in Hickory, a son of Ruben and Blanche Mull Tustin. Mr. Tustin was a member of Church of the Covenant in Washington. He was a carpenter and 50-year member of Carpenters Local 541. Mr. Tustin was a graduate of Hickory High School. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army, 57th Coast Artillery, in the Pacific Theater and received the American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175, Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM and BPOE 776. On July 29, 1945, he married Violet M. Evans, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Lee Tustin Jones of Washington; and two grandchildren, Karrie Snider and Erin Jones. Deceased are three bothers, Ruben Carl, Donald and Marshall Tustin; and a sister, Gladys Prowitt. TUSTIN - A memorial service for Woodrow Wilson Tustin of Washington, who died Saturday, May 1, 2004, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas Hamilton officiating. Private interment will be held in Washington Cemetery.
