James Wade Davis, Sr.

Owner of Daco Machine and Fabrication Inc., James Wade Davis Sr., 65, of Washington, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, in Donnell House, Washington. He had been ill since January. He was born February 19, 1939, in West Alexander, a son of Edna Swiger Davis of West Alexander and the late Kenneth Irey Davis. Mr. Davis was co-founder and owner of Daco Machine and Fabrication Inc., which he established in 1977. He was a 1952 graduate of West Alexander High School. Mr. Davis was a member of Washington Bowling Association; sponsored the Daco bowling team in Washington Classics; bowled on the City Service League and Saturday Night Universe League; and was a member of Tradesman Golf League and Alpine Club. He enjoyed his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sons, James W. Jr. and Mark S. Davis, both of Washington; two daughters, Michelle R. (Shelly) Davis of Pittsburgh and Melissa A. Reedy of Sharon; and four grandchildren, Dustin, Jesse and Stephen Davis and Alexandra (Lexi) Hall. DAVIS - Friends of James Wade Davis Sr. of Washington, who died Friday, April 30, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, with the Rev. Floyd Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor's choice.
