Avella resident was auto mechanic
Joseph Robert Willhoft Sr., 60, of Avella, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, May 12, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born May 25, 1941, in Washington, a son of the late William Sr. and Wilda Holmes Willhoft.
Mr. Willhoft attended Washington and Avella schools. He was an auto mechanic and formerly had been employed by Gilbert Stainbrook.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On September 10, 1959, he married Mary Durila, who survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Joseph R. Willhoft Jr. of Washington, Lee and George Willhoft, both of Avella, Michael Willhoft of Amity, Matthew Willhoft of West Finley and Richard Willhoft of Avella; four daughters, Linda Orum of Claysville, Barbara Sweeney of Clarksville, Fay Post of Avella and Cheryl Willhoft of Prosperity; a brother, William Willhoft of Jakin, Ga.; two sisters, Rose Donley of Washington and Shirley Glass of Jakin; 35 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, William J. Willhoft.
WILLHOFT - Friends of Joseph Robert Willhoft Sr. of Avella, who died Sunday, May 12, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G.
