Leanette Polen

Former worker at Bards Leanette Polen, 57, of Washington, formerly of Avella, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a brief illness. She was born February 1, 1945, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Wayne J. and Nellie Mae (Peggy) Bedford Polen. Mrs. Polen worked as a counter worker at Bards in Washington. She was a graduate of Avella High School and a member of Wolfdale Bible Chapel. Surviving are a brother, Edward L. Polen of Easley, S.C.; two sisters, Ardith Wier of Avella and Linda L. Green of Greenville, S.C.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. POLEN - Friends of Leanette Polen of Washington, formerly of Avella, who died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, with the Rev. Fred Helmick officiating. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
