Secretary for Ray Hale Excavating Jean Hale of Claysville died at 5:48 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in Washington Hospital. She had been ill since January. She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Leisure and Pearl Temple Vance. Mrs. Hale was a homemaker and secretary for Ray Hale Excavating. She was a graduate of Carmichaels High School. On September 21, 1965, she married Ray Hale, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Chuck Weaver and Reggie Hale, both of Washington; a daughter, Vicky Weaver of Claysville; a brother, Wilbert Vance of Waynesburg; four sisters, Freda Weaver of Connecticut, Louise Campanaro of New Jersey, Jane Crowe of the state of California and Thelma Vance of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Chuckie, Nicholas and Brandon Weaver, and Colin and Corey Hale. HALE - Friends of Jean Hale of Claysville, who died Sunday, May 5, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, with the Rev. Thomas Logston officiating. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery.
