Esther Rex

Esther Rex 30 years at Helm and Hahn Jewelry Manufacturing Esther Rex, 80, of Washington, died at 12:58 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2002, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born October 21, 1921, in Ambridge, a daughter of Alfred and Rosa Hallaschka Helmstaedter. Mrs. Rex was employed as a clerk for 30 years at Helm and Hahn Jewelry Manufacturing Co. Inc., her father's company. On July 9, 1949, she married Frank H. Rex Sr., who died June 4, 1999. Surviving are a son, Frank H. Rex Jr. of Apollo; a daughter, Cheryl Somma of Campton, N.H.; a brother, Alfred Helmstaedter of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Elizabeth Ethridge of Denver; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Todd Somma. REX - Friends of Esther Rex of Washington, who died Sunday, April 21, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, with the Rev. Gordon E. Boak officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
