Virginia M. Moore
Virginia M. Moore, 86, formerly of Washington, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in the home of her daughter in Valley Grove, W.Va., following a two-year illness.
She was born December 25, 1915, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a daughter of Amon Vivian and Artie Ballard McDonald.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Moore was employed by Mathews Clothing for 10 years.
She was a member of Antique Toy Collectors, Washington County Historical Society and Duncan Miller Club.
Mrs. Moore was a lifelong member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school.
During World War II, Mrs. Moore was a defense worker in Harrisburg.
She was a former Girl Scout leader.
On September 4, 1938, she married William G. Moore, who died May 16, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Starr M. Henderson of Valley Grove; four grandchildren, Walter Charles Smith Jr., William R. Smith, Dennis C. Henderson and Amy L. Minch; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, James L. McDonald.
