Kurtz L. Houser, Jr., 83 of Washington, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 in the Donnell House following a brief illness. He was born on May 9, 1919 in Houtzdale, PA a son of Kurtz L. and Marie Kerin Houser, Sr. Mr. Houser was a 1937 graduate of Somerset High School and had attended Duquesne University. He was a member of the St. Hilary Catholic Church. He was an Accountant having worked for 33 years at Scott Motor Company and later retiring after working for K.A.D.E. Nursing Home for 7 years.
Mr. Houser was a member of the Washington Kiwanis Club and had served as the club Treasurer and as a Board Member.
On April 24, 1947 he married Mary Ferrell who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Janet H. Skinner of Kunkletown, PA; two grandchildren, Beth Anne Skinner and Merideth S. Regina.
Preceding Mr. Houser in death are a son, Kurtz L. Houser, III who died in infancy; two brothers, James K. and William A. Houser; a niece and a nephew.
Friends of Kurtz L. Houser, Jr., of Washington, who died on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 will be received on Friday from 6 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, at 10:00 AM in the St. Hilary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
