Anna Sutherland

Anna Sutherland, 93, of Washington, died at 6:05 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, in Washington County Health Center. She had been ill since August 2006. She was born December 16, 1913, in Mather. Mrs. Sutherland worked at the former Herd's Drug Store at the snack counter and also was a cook and baker for Wilson's Diner. She enjoyed baking. Mrs. Sutherland was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. On January 17, 1934, she married Howard Sutherland, who died May 10, 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Vivian (Richard) Kurtz of Washington; four grandchildren, Bruce Kurtz, Tracie Lindsay, Tammara Heath and Tonya Zerman; and 9 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Charles Sutherland and Howard Sutherland, Jr.; two sisters, Mary McIntire and Patricia Humphreys; and a brother, Charles Andrews. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery.
