Agnes Janet Kennedy, 88, of Washington, died at 12:50 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Washington County Health Center, following a lingering illness. She was born April 28, 1919, in Bentleyville, a daughter of Stanley and Pauline Luginski. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of Senior Citizens and enjoyed her grandchildren, reading and newspapers. Her husband, Fred A. Kennedy, died July 5, 1959. Surviving are a son, Fred S. (Carol) Kennedy, of Canonsburg; a daughter, Jean Schwenk Kennedy, of Washington; a brother, Steve Luginski, of McMurray, three grandchildren, Debby Johnson, Shelley (John) Dowling, and Denise (Michael) Shearer; eight grandchildren, Jon (Anne) Tegge, Dawn Nicole Tegge, Timothy Holmes, Emily and Steven Dowling, Andrew, Isaac, and Owen Shearer; two great grandchildren, Brianna and Matthew A. Tegge. Deceased are four brothers, Stanley, Edward, Robert and Pete Luginski; four sisters, Pauline Zezutek, Helen Senay, Antoinette Wolosyn, and Blanche Talpas Lowe.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, with Father Thomas D. O'Neil, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
