Raymond E. Grim
Retired Cerdec technician was WWII veteran
Raymond E. Grim, 82, of Washington, died at 6 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, in Washington Hospital, following a three-year illness.
He was born January 7, 1920, in Washington, a son of Earle M. and Effie P. Redinger Grim.
Mr. Grim was a member of West Washington Methodist Church.
He was a lab technician at Cerdec in Washington for 38 years prior to retirement.
Mr. Grim was a 1938 graduate of Trinity High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania for two years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in the Western Pacific and Central Pacific, receiving a Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service unit award and Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with two bronze stars.
Mr. Grim was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington.
On December 21, 1945, he married Betty Jean Haney, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dennis Grim of Washington; a daughter, Sandra Grim Hallam of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister, Millie Grim Headley of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren, Jarrod D. Grim and Ashley Rebecca Grim; two step-grandchildren, Scott and Brandon Blackhurst; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
