Robert Michael Ruffalo, 61, of Washington, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a one-month illness.
He was born August 9, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph Patrick and Lena Gladys Schifno Ruffalo.
In 1997, Mr. Ruffalo received a heart transplant.
He was member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.
Mr. Ruffalo had been a bartender and had worked for U.S Steel. He also worked for 12 years at Jessop Steel as a grinder in the specialty shop.
He was a member of Alpine Club, Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 and Heart Transplant Support Group.
Mr. Ruffalo enjoyed playing cards, working out at the gym, swimming, bike riding and the Steelers.
He was a 1961 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and had served in the U.S. Navy.
On June 23, 1979, he married Edith Virginia Morrow, who survives with a son, Vincent Michael Ruffalo, at home.
Also surviving are a sister, Ann Morris of Washington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, were services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, with the Rev. Roger Raymond Fischer, sharing with the Rev. David Clement, officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
