Ruby Elaine Wright, 82, of Washington, died at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007, in Washington County Health Center, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 5, 1925, in Prosperity, a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Sarah Mannon Bell.
Mrs. Wright attended Laboratory School and Trinity High School. She had worked at Hazel Atlas and George Washington Hotel.
She was a homemaker, who was known for her love of children, cooking, baking and playing cards with her friends.
On March 27, 1947, she married Norton O. (Jake) Wright, Jr., who died June 14, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Billie Rae Wright, of Washington, Jackie Koneski, of Houston, Amor and husband, Rob Andy, of Washington; a son Terry and wife Sandy Wright, of Washington; two brothers, Billy Bell, of Laboratory and Frank Bell, of Pikeville, NC; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Ruselko, Carolyn Arent, Michael Wright, Terry Wright, Stephen Wright, Christy Andy Nataro, Danielle Andy Belusko, Nicholas Andy and Jolena Koneski Dye; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Ola Gamer, Bonnie Pasterchalk, Midge Strachan, June Claffey and a brother, Daniel Bell.
Friends will be received 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2006, with Pastor David A. Stammerjohn officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
