Martha Jane Day Kightlinger, 83, of Washington, died Monday, June 7, 2004, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, after a brief illness.
She was born July 24, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of A. Blaine and Althea Goodridge Day.
Mrs. Kightlinger was a member of Church of the Covenant in Washington.
She was a 1938 graduate of Washington High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Seton Hill College.
Mrs. Kightlinger was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and baking.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
On June 26, 1942, she married Edgar N. Kightlinger, who died February 3, 1978.
Surviving are two sons, Edgar N. Kightlinger Jr. of New Orleans and Earl Samuel Kightlinger of Washington; a brother, Irving Blaine Day of Carmel, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Kightlinger, Edgar Merrick Kightlinger and Mariah Bree Kightlinger.
