McWreath Dairy driver was World War II veteran
Walter "Dud" Watson, 86, of Washington, died Monday, April 12, 2004, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington, following a two-week illness.
He was born October 14, 1917, in Washington, a son of Lonnie and Sylvia Boyce Watson.
Mr. Watson attended Washington schools and served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
He was employed by McWreath Dairy as a truck driver for 30 years before his retirement.
Mr. Watson was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 and Arms Club.
On December 19, 1939, he married Nellie L. Bennett, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William Watson of Washington; a daughter, Carol Bedillion of Finleyville; and four grandchildren, Kris and Diane Watson and Eric and Nicole Bedillion.
Deceased are a brother, Frank Watson; and a sister, Betty Minnech.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Washington City Mission or Alzheimer's Association. Donations may also be made online at www.MemorialDonations.com .
