Owned Jake's Newsstand in Washington. Fred Benjamin (Jake) Naser Jr., 76, of Washington, died Friday, August 27, 2004, in Washington Hospital, following a two-month illness. He was born April 9, 1928, in Washington, a son of Fred and Hazel Paul Naser. A 1946 Washington High School graduate, Mr. Naser was a member of First Christian Church, Washington. He owned/operated Jake's Newsstand for 34 years and later worked at Nick's Gas Station, both in Washington. Mr. Naser was a member of BPOE 776 and enjoyed bingo. In 1948, he married Eleanore Jane McGary, who died in November 1986. He made his home with his companion of 18 years, Patricia Miller. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Koval of Washington and Marsha Knapik of Eighty Four; a sister, Gertrude Carroll of Washington; and a grandchild, Zachary McWee. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 30, with the Rev. Paul Leone officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
