Life member of Amity United Methodist Church. Jean A. Shrontz, 84, of Washington, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in Standish Assisted Living, Washington. She had been in declining health. She was born January 21, 1923, in Amity, a daughter of Theodore B. and Olive Luellen Andrew. Mrs. Shrontz attended Trinity schools and was a homemaker. She was a life member of Amity United Methodist Church and a life member of Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Mrs. Shrontz enjoyed cooking, crafts, her family, and going to church. On November 7, 1940, she married Russell L. Shrontz Jr., who died April 8, 2003. Surviving are four daughters, Peggy (Stephen Sr.) Day of Washington, Sue (Thomas) Taylor of Morgantown, W.Va., Sharon (Philip) Davis of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Amy McCord of Elyria, Ohio; three brothers, Theodore Andrew and Samuel Andrew, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Reed Andrew of Washington; a sister, Mona (Robert) Graham of Washington; nine grandchildren, Mona Jo, Stephen, Scott and Neil Day, Andrew, Kimberly and James Taylor, Jason McCord and James Bunnell; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Mabel Briggs; and a grandchild, Deborah Davis. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
