Elizabeth Durbin Krause, 86, of Canonsburg, died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital. She had been in declining health. She was born June 20, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Clyde and Hazel Jacobs Durbin. Mrs. Krause was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Washington Seminary for two years. She was Presbyterian. Mrs. Krause was a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., for the Department of the Army, retiring in 1976. Prior to that, she was a sales clerk at Lang's department store in Washington. On January 1, 1977, she married William A. Krause, who died February 15, 2005. Surviving are a son, David (Karen) Houlihan of Canonsburg; two stepsons, Barry F. (Pat) Krause of Rayland, Ohio, and Kit M. (Tammy) Krause of Big Springs, Neb.; a daughter-in-law, Sue Houlihan; a brother, James R. Durbin of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, Lisa, Bonnie, Ashliegh, Chris and Katharine Houlihan and Jason, Wade, Miranda, Laura, Ashley, Kyle and Katie Krause; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Elizabeth Gately; and a nephew, Thomas Gately. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, Michael Houlihan; a brother, Joseph Durbin; and a sister, Lois Gately.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3:15 p.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, March 13, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
