WWII vet was machine operator for McGraw-Edison.
Joseph John Sirak, 87, of Washington, died Monday, August 23, 2004, at 2:07 a.m. in Washington Hospital. He had been ill for more than four years.
He was born May 3, 1917, in Duquesne, a son of Andrew and Helen Thomas Sirak.
He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II.
Mr. Sirak was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, and had been employed as a machine operator at McGraw-Edison.
On August 29, 1940, he married Constance Lena, who died January 29, 1985.
Surviving are three nephews, John Sirak of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Sirak of Campbell, Ohio, and Robert Sirak of Youngstown, Ohio.
Deceased are three brothers, John, Andrew and Michael Sirak.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 27, with the Rev. William Feeney officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
