Jessie Fay Tucker, 79, of Washington, died on Saturday, August 7, 2004, in the Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Waynesburg on December 21, 1924, a daughter of James and Minnie Yoders Reeves. Mrs. Tucker was a 1943 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and had worked at the former Cowieson Funeral Home, Victory Diner, Jessie Tuckers Lunch Counter, K-Mart, and Hills. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
On May 9, 1960, she married John W. Tucker, who died on June 27, 1975.
Surviving are her two sons, Bud Durbin of Washington and Bob Durbin of Canonsburg; a step-sister, Edith Loar of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, Ralph and James Reeves as well as a sister, Estella Robison.
Friends of Jessie Fay Tucker, 79, of Washington, who died on Saturday, August 7, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at 11:00 am with Pastor Fred McCloskey officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
