Member of Atlasburg Church of the Nazarene
Erla Jean Hill, 66, of Hickory, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in her home, following a one-month illness.
She was born November 26, 1937, in Langeloth, a daughter of Bruce and Nannie Drew Bonner.
Mrs. Hill was a 1955 graduate of Union High School.
She had resided in Hickory since 1966.
Mrs. Hill was a lifetime member of Atlasburg Church of the Nazarene and belonged to its Missionary Society.
On November 30, she married Roy M. Hill, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, R. Ronald Hill of Washington; two daughters, Karen Fisher of Springboro, Ohio, and Joyce Gildea of Castle Shannon; a brother, Ray Bonner of Bulger; three sisters, Elsie Turberey of Brockville, Canada, Pat Janacek of Brookville and Marie Banas of Washington; six grandchildren, Heather, Jacob and Luke Fisher, Bethany Hill and Amber and Abigail Gildea; and one great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Frank and William Bonner.
Private visitation and services, with the Rev. Douglas R. Keith officiating, will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Washington Hospice or Atlasburg Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
