U.S. Army veteran was mechanic Wayne Floyd Tanner, 67, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. He was born August 11, 1936, in Washington, a son of Oral S. and Eileen Martin Tanner. He attended East Washington School. Mr. Tanner served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a mechanic and worked at Chuck Carson Auto Repair for 23 years and Wayne's Small Auto Repair for 10 years. He enjoyed Volkswagen repair. On September 13, 1958, he married Edith Harris, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, David Tanner of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Billy Tanner and Earl M. Tanner; and a sister, Etta Marie Favorite. TANNER - Friends of Wayne Floyd Tanner of Washington, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
