Leo Ankrom Jr., 63, of Latrobe, died at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in Washington Hospital. He had been ill since 1984.
He was born November 4, 1938, in Hays (Pittsburgh), a son of the late Leo Sr. and Violet Edna Link Ankrom.
Mr. Ankrom was a graduate of Avella High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a laborer at I. Richman Co. in Washington.
On January 12, 1969, he married Linda Mae McCloskey, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Leo III and George, both of Charleston, S.C., and William and Duane Ankrom, both of Washington; a daughter, Tammy Ankrom of Bentleyville; a brother, Richard J. Ankrom of Washington; a sister, Shirley F. Roberts of Claysville; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Patrick Ankrom, is deceased.
ANKROM - Friends of Leo Ankrom Jr. of Latrobe, who died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
