Washington resident served during World War II
Harry Charles Schultz, 76, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 3, 1926, in Washington, a son of Julia Schultz Kurtz.
Mr. Schultz was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Cranberry College in Danville, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Schultz was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington and Old Timers Baseball Organization.
On February 23, 1963, he married Joann "Jennie" Perri, who died March 5, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Donald W. Huggins Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Pamela Peel of Washington and Norma Holmes of Fredericktown; a brother, Richard Kurtz of Washington; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Barbara G. (Gracie) Dannewitz; a son, Brad C. Schultz; and a sister, Jacqueline Hutchison
SCHULTZ - Friends of Harry Charles Schultz of Washington, who died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 17. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington. The family requests donations to Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175, 168 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
