Irma Lois Carpenter McCormick, 78, of Washington, died Wednesday, July
28, 2004, at The Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health
for the past five years. She was born on January 2, 1926 in Washington,
PA, a daughter of Fred B. and Blanche Pullium Carpenter. Mrs. McCormick
was a homemaker and belonged to the West Washington United Methodist
Church. Mrs. McCormick was a member of the Lady Hogue Rebekah Lodge
#102, past president of United Methodist Women, past Girl Scout leader,
past member of Noble Grands Club and was a Bible School teacher for 30
years. She enjoyed baking and cooking.
On October 26, 1947, she married Charles E. McCormick, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, Kevin C. McCormick of Washington and Sean E.
McCormick of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Marna McCormick-Hicks of
Washington and 3 grandchildren, Ryne and Amber McCormick and Erin
Helmcamp. Deceased are 2 sisters, Juanita Simpson and Thala Carpenter,
a brother, Cyril Walther and a grandson, Preston McCormick.

Wednesday, July 28, 2004, will be received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and
from 12-3 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395
East Maiden St, Washington, PA, where services will be held on Monday,
August 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Keith Lohr officiating.
Interment will follow at the Prosperity Cemetery.
