Idora May Wise, 76, of Washington, died Sunday, May 1, 2005, in Presbyterian Senior Care following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Canonsburg on May 26, 1928, a daughter of Walter S. and Helen I. Mathews Sampson. She is a 1946 graduate of Washington High School.
She last worked as a tester at R.C.A and prior to that had worked as G.C. Murphy Company and Troutmans as a sales clerk.
Mrs. Wise was once a Girl Scout Leader and had been for 15 years. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, riding motorcycles, and was a former member of the Wolf Pak Motorcycle Club.
On September 27, 1946, she married Richard W. Wise who survives. Also surviving are a son, William John Wise and his wife Kathleen of Sugar Grove; a daughter, Shirley Derbis and her husband Richard; a brother Donald Allen Sampson of Ridgeway; six grandchildren, Karen, Kevin, Keith, and Kyle Wise, Richard and Stephen Derbis; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death is a daughter, Bobby Lynn Wise.
Friends of Idora May Wise, 76, of Washington, who died Sunday, May 1, 2005, will be received on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005, at 11:00 am, Rev. John DePolo officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to: American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
