Richard L. “ Butch-Papo “ Crupe, 59, of Avella, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in the Donnell House following a lengthy illness. He was born in Connellsville on June 19, 1945, a son of the late Russell F. and Irene L. Fryan Crupe.
Mr. Crupe was a 1963 graduate of Avella High School. He had worked as a Winder at McGraw Edison and later Cooper Industries, worked part time as a bus driver for G.G. & C. Bus Company. For more than 28 years, he was a member of the West Middletown Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former member of the Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club.
Mr. Crupe was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Claysville and had attended Living Waters Church of God, in Washington.
On June 6, 1970, he married Lorna Lee Kelly, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Tammie Jo ( Jim ) Moore of Avella, and Melissa Ilean “ Missy “ ( Joe ) Ealy of West Alexander; two brothers, William Earl Crupe of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Russell Lee Crupe of Avella; four sisters, Sandra ( Dennis ) Aschenbrenner of Baytown, Texas, Fran Sabo of West Newton, Cathy Hanna of Reveno, Ohio, Debbie Boyce of Ocean Isle, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Amber Nicole Moore, Richard Charles “ Ricky “ Moore, and Cody Matthew Ealy.
Preceding him in death is a brother, Russell Gerald “ Buster “ Crupe.
Friends of Richard L. “ Butch-Papo “ Crupe, 59, of Avella, who died Saturday, April 30, 2005, will be received on Sunday, from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 11:00 am, Pastor Michael Singo officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
