Edgar B. “ Ed “ Agnew, 64, of Washington, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Oakland. He was born in Washington on February 13, 1940, a son of Edgar B. and Helen M. Rhodaback Agnew, Sr. Mr. Agnew was a graduate of Trinity High School, Penn Commercial , and had attended California University. He once was a printer and had worked at the Meadville Tribune. For the past 30 years he has owned/operated A - Z Supply in Washington which he founded.
He had formerly coached Brownson House Football and McGuffey youth Football.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Sunset Lodge # 623.
On November 16, 1963, he married Joan M. Piecknick who survives, Also surviving are a son, Edgar B. Agnew III of Washington; two daughters, Melissa Scharf of Altoona, and Amy Agnew of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; two sisters, Shirley Ruth Alberta of Washington, and Florence Ramsey of Belprie, Ohio; two grandsons, Stephen L. and Michael E. Scharf.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2004, at 1:00 pm, Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating.
