U.S. Navy vet was avid bowler, worked at Ionics in Canonsburg. Dominick Pete Celli, 61, of Eighty Four, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, August 15, 2004, in Washington Hospital, following a two-year illness. He was born November 29, 1942, in Bulger, a son of the late Peter and Rose Abbott Celli. Mr. Celli was a 1961 graduate of Burgettstown High School. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Celli attended North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and had been employed at Ionics in Canonsburg. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing. He had been a member of Sunday Night Pin Busters Bowling League for 15 years and had been a drummer in several polka bands. On October 10, 1973, he married Joyce Alana Dummer, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Dominette Marie Celli of Eighty Four; two brothers, Redo Celli of Slovan and Perry Lee Celli of Burgettstown; a stepbrother, John Fowler of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Rose Marie Klimas of Bulger and Candida Staub of Bridgeville; a grandson, Schyler James Schmidt; his stepmother, Cecelia Celli of Slovan; several nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Deceased is a son, Anthony Wayne Celli. Friends will be received from 1 to 7 p.m., the hour of service, Tuesday, August 17, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
