Nurse in Washington doctor's office Ellen F. Bane Reese, 75, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 2:51 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2002, in the Washington Hospital emergency room. She was born September 19, 1927, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of Albert G. and Ruth Marsh Bane. Mrs. Reese was a member of First United Methodist Church of Washington. She attended Washington public schools until 1943, when she moved to Alcoa, Tenn., and graduated from Alcoa High School in 1945. In 1949, Mrs. Reese graduated from St. Mary's Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Knoxville, Tenn. She was an office nurse for Dr. D. T. Corwin in Washington until retiring in 1989. Mrs. Reese was a past worthy matron of Washington Chapter 409 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Washington Hospital Auxiliary. On August 17, 1951, she married William W. Reese Jr., who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Sue Lowry of Ottawa, Ill., and Lynn Ann Bedillion of Washington; and five grandchildren, Jessica, Jason and April Lowry and Amanda and Mitchell Bedillion. Deceased are a brother, William A. Bane; and her stepfather, Charles B. Moore. REESE - Friends of Ellen F. Bane Reese of Washington, who died Friday, September 27, 2002, will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, and from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of services, Monday, September 30, in First United Methodist Church, Washington, with the Rev. Duane Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church of Washington.
