Stephen Robert Hartzell

Stephen Robert (Stymie) Hartzell, 52, of Washington, died Friday, April 20, 2007, in the Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born September 14, 1954, a son of Donald J. and Shirley A. Barlow Hartzell of Washington. Mr. Hartzell graduated from Trinity High School in 1973 and had worked as a laborer at Mac Plastics. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and loved gardening and growing plants. He was an avid dog lover who will be sadly missed by his dog, Pandora. His wife, Kathy Gizoni Hartzell, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Samantha Wilkinson of West Alexander; two stepsons, Heath Gizoni of Washington and Dan Gizoni of West Alexander; three brothers, Charles Keith Hartzell of Canonsburg, Donald Paul (Donna) Hartzell of Washington, and Robert Lee (Beth) Hartzell of Washington; a sister, Rebecca L. Ames, with whom he made is home; a grandson, Nicholas Gizoni; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007, with Fr. John Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
