Virginia Mae Grimm

Virginia Mae Grimm, 91, of Washington, died at 5:26 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, in her home. She was born January 11, 1916, in Washington, a daughter of Grover Cleveland Burke and Mae Newman Burke. Mrs. Grimm graduated from Washington High School in 1934. She worked as an inspector for Hazel Atlas, Continental Can and Brockway Glass for 43 years. Mrs. Grimm was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and Washington Senior Citizens. On November 18, 1949, she married David J. Grimm, who died November 9, 2006. Surviving are a niece, Donna Korba, and her family, who were Mrs. Grimm’s caretakers. Deceased are five brothers, Clarence Ernest Burke, William Donald Burke, James Arthur Burke, Andrew Walter Burke, and Raymond Lee Burke. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, with Rev. George Garancosky officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
