Anna Mae Amshay, 85, of Phoenix, Ariz., died at 2 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2002, at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, following a brief illness.
She was born May 30, 1917, in Sewickley, a daughter of Frank and Eliza Prosser Miller.
Mrs. Amshay was a graduate of Washington High School and a homemaker.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Christian Mothers.
On September 6, 1939, she married William Joseph Amshay, who died January 20, 1992.
Surviving are a son, William V. Amshay of Phoenix; a daughter, Patricia Johnson of Washington; three grandchildren, Teresa and Paul Amshay and Terri Marshall; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Olive Buxton and Mary Plantz; and three brothers, Frank and Kirk Miller and Glenn Cope.
AMSHAY - Friends of Anna Mae Amshay of Phoenix, Ariz., who died Monday, September 23, 2002, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 26, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. The Christian Mothers of Immaculate Conception Church will have a service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
