Ethel Alberta Russell

Founder of Widows and Widowers Support Group Ethel Alberta Russell, 72, of Washington, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2003, in Donnell House, Washington, following an eight-week illness. She was born December 28, 1930, in Hopewell Township, a daughter of Galey and Clara Dinch Clemens. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker and former member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. She was the founder Widows and Widowers Support Group in the Washington area. On April 1, 1950, she married Albert W. Russell, who died July 10, 1987. Surviving are three sons, Charles E. Russell and Harold G. Russell, both of Washington, and Howard N. Russell of Canonsburg; a stepson, Albert L. Russell of Washington; five stepdaughters, Florence Siefert of Washington, Clara Turk of Westland, Betty Torboli, Lois Weaver and Darlene Elliott, all of Washington; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Deceased are a stepson, Gaylord Russell; a grandson, Joseph Turk; a great-grandson, Joe Cass; four brothers, Russell, Henry, Robert and Gaylord Clemens; and three sisters, Margaret Clemens, Rose Russell and Lulu Moore. RUSSELL - Friends of Ethel Alberta Russell of Washington, who died Tuesday, January 14, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 18, with the Rev. John Mark Scott officiating. Interment in North Buffalo Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.
